By now the issue of climate protection has found its way onto the political and economic agenda. It has caught the eye of the media as well as people’s awareness. Protection of
our climate and environment as well as the careful use of natural resources present major challenges in this day and age which we need to address in order to safeguard the survival of our planet in the future.

But how can we effectively integrate climate protection into our daily lives? What do we have to know about the correlation between nature, energy and climate protection? And how should one get involved?

The “Hamburg Foundation for Climate Protection” (Hamburger Klimaschutzstiftung) was established in the spring of 2008 to help provide answers to these questions. In doing so it focuses on climate awareness.

One of the Foundation’s primary and most important areas of responsibility is to act as funding body for the well-known “Karlshöhe Centre for the Environment” (Umweltzentrum Karlshöhe).  This includes promoting the Centre’s development as an exciting and modern institute of learning.
